Just in time for the beginning of the new school year, AAA has released an updated version of its At Your Post video that provides valuable training to all students serving in the AAA School Safety Patrol program.
More than 654,000 Patrollers in 34,500 U.S. schools participate in the program each year. More than 30 countries have adopted similar Safety Patrol programs. Education and safety groups around the world have praised the program for reducing injuries and fatalities among schoolchildren ages 5 to 14.
The 20-minute video, paired with the updated AAA School Safety Patrol Operations Manual, are used across the country to train Patrol advisors on how to form, organize and operate a Patrol Program, and teach Patrollers what it means to be At Your Post. The video and manual also serve as a resource to community organizations, school administrators, and law enforcement agencies responsible for coordinating local programs.
To view the video, visit www.CornhuskerFoundation.org and click-on the Safety Patrol tab. Other resources available on this website include a free-loan Safety Patrol parade banner and an order form for equipment and free training material. The Cornhusker Motor Club Foundation generously provides free reflective vests and rain ponchos to support the AAA School Safety Patrol program in Nebraska.
