AAA Expects to Aid 370,000 Stranded Motorists this Holiday Period

AAA expects to rescue more than 370,000 motorists during the Independence Day holiday travel period with the primary reasons being dead batteries, lockouts and flat tires.  Many of these unplanned roadside emergencies can be prevented.  AAA recommends motorists check the condition of their battery, tires and spare tire before heading out on any long distance road trip.   It is always advisable to carry a spare car key when vacationing or traveling out of town.  With warm temperatures prevailing, keep in mind that temperatures inside a car can warm up quickly.   Keep a small cooler safely stored in your vehicle with plenty of fluids for all passengers.  If you notice a stranded motorist or family and are unable to render aid, call the Highway Helpline by dialing *55 on your cell phone.  Be prepared to provide the dispatcher with a description of the vehicle and details about their location.
