AAA to Host Safety Day

AAA will host a safety day for the general public on Thursday, September 17, at the AAA office in Lincoln located at 2900 O Street.
 
The following services will be provided free of charge, from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm:
 
Free Bike Helmets - Bicycle helmet fittings for children ages 5 through 12, while supplies last.  Children must be present to be properly fitted.
 
Free Child Safety Seat Checks – Certified child passenger safety technicians will be available to help install child safety seats and booster seats, and teach parents/caregivers the correct way to make adjustments as the child grows. To schedule an appointment for a free check, call 402-441-8045, M-F, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. 
 
Teen Driver Simulator Unit – Teens are invited to take a test drive on the AAA Driving Simulator.  Each teen will receive a free copy of the computer game Driver ZED, courtesy of the Auto Club Group Traffic Safety Foundation.
 
Free Traffic Safety Literature – AAA will provide a wide variety of traffic safety literature addressing important topics such as roundabouts, senior driving, and distracted driving.
 
Car Battery Checks – AAA roadside assistance service providers will conduct free car battery checks to help ensure a safe start this winter season.
 
Battery Recycling - Storing old car batteries can pose a safety and health risk.  AAA will collect car, motorcycle and boat batteries and have them appropriately recycled.
